Pros & Cons
What you get.
What it costs.
No marketing. Here is everything that speaks for VoidCord – and everything that speaks against it.
Pros
- Everything from Vencord, and more. All of Vencord's 100+ plugins, plus 32 of our own and two themes.
- One-click install. For Discord Stable, PTB and Canary – each with its own settings.
- Survives Discord updates. The installer notices when an update removed VoidCord and repairs it.
- Updates itself.A button in the title bar, with release notes before you update.
- Your login stays in Discord. No extra account, no password, no tracking by VoidCord.
- Opt-in.Plugins stay off until you turn them on – most of them without a restart.
- Free and open source.GPL-3.0, the code is on GitHub.
Cons
- Against Discord's Terms on paper.Plugins marked “Higher ToS risk” really are risky. Read more
- Windows only.No macOS, Linux or mobile – for now.
- Discord updates can break plugins.Usually only for a while, until a fix is released.
- Every plugin costs a little.More plugins mean a slower start and more memory. See below.
- No official support.Discord can't help with mod problems, and VoidCord is a small project.
- Third-party services. Some plugins rely on services that can change or go down.
Measured, not guessed
